The Foundation shall support organizations that support, promote, engage in or have otherwise been formed to serve health-related charitable purposes, including but not limited to, research, education, prevention or treatment of medical conditions, or are otherwise involved with the beneficial advancement of “health” (as described by the World Health Organization), and other similar organizations (collectively, “Health Charitable Purposes”).
The Foundation shall support organizations that support, promote, engage in or have otherwise been formed to serve hunger-related charitable purposes, including but not limited to, education, sustainability, advocacy, or providing nutritional assistance (such as an “emergency feeding organization” described in 7 U.S.C. 7501), or are otherwise involved with the beneficial advancement of hunger relief, and other similar organizations (collectively, “Hunger Charitable Purposes”).
Jim and Judi Herbert have concentrated their philanthropic efforts toward charities with personal meaning for them: advancements in medicine and fighting hunger. Both Distinguished Alumni of the University of Tennessee, the Herberts have supported causes ranging from cutting-edge medical research to agriculture education.
